NGO’s are helping the victims of the heavy flood struck the Southeastern region of Turkiye. As soon as he heard of the flood, Mr. Meral, the chairman of TUSKON, who lived in Diyarbakır –a city in flood-struck region- for 16 years, went to the region immediately
After visiting the flood region and indicating that the disaster was much bigger than it seemed to be, Mr. Meral said that the press was unable to reflect the severity of the disaster. According to Mr. Meral, in addition to the government, NGO’s are able to provide some necessities needed by flood victims. TUSKON under the presidency of Mr. Meral, which has around 10.000 members all over Turkiye, will provide accommodation to 200 flood victims in Batman, whose homes had become useless. TUSKON will also provide aid in kind especially home furniture, home textiles in order to help victims to refurbish their homes.
